The One-Twenty The One-Twenty was important to Packard as it was their first entry into the very competitive mid-priced eight-cylinder automobile market. This was a necessary move by Packard to keep them in business through the Great Depression. When the One-Twenty was first introduced there was a wide variety of body styles available including convertible, Club Coupe as well as two door and four door sedans. The One-Twenty was powered by Packard's aluminum-head L-head inline eight that produced 110 bhp at 3850 rpm. The starting price was $950 for the three passenger business coupe up to $1,095 for the Touring Sedan. From its introduction in January 1935 the car was a big hit with the market and 24,995 One-Twenty's were made whereas Packard only produced 7,000 from all their other ranges that year. In 1936 a total of 55,042 cars were produced.
